Full-Side House Cladding with Steel Subframe & PVC Finish

Mrs. Bowen reached out to Atom Fabrications to update the side exterior of her home, which had suffered from years of weathering and worn render. Her goals were to improve insulation, modernise the appearance, and reduce future maintenance—all without major structural disruption.

What Went Into the Job:

    • Site Assessment & Consultation: After inspecting the property and discussing aesthetic preferences, we proposed a durable steel subframe system to support new PVC cladding. The client opted for a light oak-effect finish to match her existing window trims.

    • Frame Fabrication & Prep: Galvanised steel channels and box sections were fabricated to create a secure framework fixed directly to the existing masonry. Brackets and anchors were used to accommodate uneven wall surfaces and ensure a level finish.

    • Cladding Installation: Premium-grade hollow PVC cladding panels were installed horizontally across the entire side wall. Hidden fasteners and interlocking tongue-and-groove panels gave a seamless look. A breathable membrane was included behind the frame to improve moisture control.

    • Detailing: Edge trims, soffit returns, and drip flashings were added for a clean, professional finish. The colour-matched trims helped the new cladding blend naturally with the rest of the property.

    • Final Inspection: A walkthrough was completed with Mrs. Bowen to ensure all finishing touches were approved, and the site was left clean and tidy.

Result: A refreshed, low-maintenance exterior that improves thermal efficiency and gives the home a clean, modern appearance—while protecting it from the elements for years to come.
